Funeral service for Ralph Oliver Haggerty, 82, was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Derek Staples and the Rev. Bob Ford officiating. Mr. Haggerty died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at his residence.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherrie Wiggins and her husband Randy of Jacksonville; son, Barry Haggerty and his wife Denise of Panama City, Fla.; brother, Albert Haggerty of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Haggerty was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville for 50 years where he served as a deacon and chairman of the benevolence committee. He retired from Liberty National in 1984. Mr. Haggerty also served on the Jacksonville Hospital Board and was the Assistant Scout Master for Troup 147. He also supported Meals on Wheels, the JCOC and the Jacksonville Senior Center. Mr. Haggerty was preceded in death by his wife, June S. Haggerty.

Pallbearers were Ken Perry, Ed Davis, Jim McArthur, Jim Williams, Jim Douthit and Jim Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers were the Brotherhood/Dean Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
