This year’s theme is ‘Together we plant the seeds of success.’ It is important to thank everyone involved with the school system including cafeteria workers, office staff, nurses, housekeeping, administration and many others. The appreciation week kicked off last night with a dinner for all teachers and staff. It was a ‘garden picnic’ at the JSU Alumni House with music and entertainment from The Gold Saw and food from Java Jolt, Top O’ the River, The Rocket, BF Dawgs, Effina’s and Classic on Noble. It was truly a community effort to thank these educators.
During the rest of the week, parents will send in snacks for the teachers at both schools. Today, Kitty Stone teachers will have a flower gram delivery where students have the opportunity to send a note to their teachers. Friday, teachers will get a duty free lunch where parents watch the classes while teachers get a break for lunch.
At JHS, parent volunteers will cook breakfast one morning for the teachers and staff and set up goodies during the week for them to enjoy.
