The girls’ team (9-3-0, 7-0) had wins over Westbrook Christian and Crossville while the boys (11-2-1, 8-0) took victories over Cherokee County and Crossville.
In a battle of unbeatens, Jacksonville girls took a 2-0 win over Westbrook. Both goals were scored by Sharon Osterbind, one unassisted the other on an assist by Kelsey Cain. Kaila Green was in goal for the Lady Eagles.
The girls had an easier time against Crossville, winning 10-0 with the mercy rule. Five goals were scored in each half. In the first half it was Osterbind with two goals with Kelsey Cain, Allie Curl, and Virginia Poe all adding a goal. Osterbind scored two more goals in the second half, Lakken Wood scored two goals and Cain added her second goal of the game. Osterbind, Cain, Wood, Poe and Kaila Green all were credited with assists. Green was in goal for the Lady Eagles the first half and Allsion Judge the second half.
The boys outscored Cherokee County 8-0 with four goals being scored in each half.
Tyler Cunningham and Logan Shelton each scored two goals with Swaheb Shubair, Nate Owens and Jordan Vanderbleek each scoring a goal. Vanderbleek, Taylor Adams, and Shelton all had assists. Joe Ferguson was in goal for the Golden Eagles.
Against Crossville the Eagles came away with a 1-0 win. The game was scoreless until the 65th minute when Jackson Pearson scored on a cross from Christian Vital. Joe Ferguson was once again in goal.
Both teams have the opportunity to clinch area titles this week with the boys at Collinsville and the girls taking on Westbrook.
