The tournament took two weeks to play with Jacksonville, Weaver, Spring Garden, Crossville and Collinsville participating. Jacksonville went undefeated in the tournament and upped their record to 6-0 for the season.
Trevor O’Day was on the mound for the Golden Eagles against Weaver recording four strikeouts and allowing just one hit and no runs in 3 1/3 innings.
Matthew Gunter came on in relief pitching 2 2/3 innings striking out four while giving up two runs on two hits.
Jake Smith also pitched an inning striking out one for the Eagles.
At the plate Samuel Sawyer was 2-for-3. Also getting hits were Jake Williams, Colby Bryant, Zach Shadoan, David Logsdon, Nick Quinn, Trevor O’Day and Matthew Gunter.
The Golden Eagles had nine hits, two that hit the fence, as they beat Crossville 6-3.
Will Thompson was 2-for-2 with a triple and double and had two intentional walks to lead the way for Jacksonville.
Sawyer was 2-for-3 with a double and single. Williams also had a good day at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double and single.
Brock Sanderson picked up the win pitching 3 2/3 innings. Sanderson had seven strikeouts and gave up three hits and two runs.
Smith picked up the save pitching 3 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and two hits.
Sanderson, Quinn and Shadoan all had doubles for the Golden Eagles while Bryant contributed a single.
The Eagles will next be in action at the Calhoun County Tournament that starts on Friday.
Jacksonville, the No.2 seed will take on Anniston (0-0) at 4:30 on their home field.
The winner of the Jacksonville/Anniston game will play the Saks/Pleasant Valley winner on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Alexandria.
