Unbeaten Jacksonville team looks to district tournament

The Jacksonville PARD 10-and-under girls have rolled to a 13-0 record heading into this weekend’s district tournament in Piedmont.

The team will play Anniston at 10:30 a.m. If the team wins the next game will be at 12:30. The winner advances to state.

“These girls have really worked hard this year,” Coach Tim Baird said. “These are the most well behaved and well mannered young ladies I have ever had the privilege to coach.  The parents have done a remarkable job raising young ladies.

“The girls have played with good sportsmanship and unselfishness.”

In collecting an unbeaten record the team has beaten Piedmont  24-14 and 26-6, won by forfeiture to Hobson City, beat Piedmont 23-4, Anniston Red 7-2,  Anniston Black 24-2, Pleasant Valley 25-11, Piedmont 17-5, Anniston Red 17-10, Ann. Black 27-0 and Pleasant Valley 22-12.

In the tournament they defeated Hobson City 21-8 and Anniston Red 21-5.
