Eagles win one in tourney

Jacksonville’s Lady Eagles were 1-2 in the Big East Soccer Tournament at Oxford with a 3-0 win over Sylacauga and a 7-1 loss to Briarwood and 7-0 loss to Auburn.

Sharon Osterbind scored all three goals in the win over Sylacauga with Kelsey Cain getting an assist on the first goal. Kaila Green was in goal for Jacksonville.

Against Briarwood, Cain scored the lone goal on an assist by Allie Curl. Green had several good saves in goal.

The Lady Eagles started out their season earlier in the week in a big way with a 10-0 win over Talladega.

Osterbind had three goals and three assists, Ashleigh Manuel two goals and Curl, Yaasameen Al-Hamdani, Allison Judge, Taylor Reid and Kaila Green each had one goal.

Chelsey Miranda, Virginia Poe and Cortnee Marbut all contributed assists.
