It was a topsy-turvy Calhoun County Basketball Tournament this year. No.1 seeds fell; No. 12 seeds beat No. 5 seeds, and it was anyone's tournament to win.

In the end, it was Saks, both the boys and girls teams who came out on top. The win for the Saks teams makes it the fourth year in a row that one school has won the double-double, as Anniston boys and girls teams came away with the wins the past three years.

It was a tournament of many thrills, like the three dunks by Jacksonville's Tristan Garmon that brought fans to their feet in the win over Alexandria.

Garmon had an incredible tournament, the final for the Golden Eagle senior. Garmon finished with 67 points and 31 rebounds.

There were other great performances, like JCA's Katy Miller's 30 points in the loss to Ohatchee.

Pleasant Valley was impressive in their loss to Anniston, showing that they were a team who would never give up.

The White Plains girls held on to upset Jacksonville; while the Lady Eagles were left without the services of leading scorer Lacey Buchanon and Sharon Osterbind.

In the end, when all was said and done, it was a tournament to be remembered, for wins, for losses, for personal bests and for the fans, a week of some of the best basketball around.
