Gloria Baldwin Cauble

Graveside service for Gloria Baldwin Cauble, 51, were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at the Jacksonville City Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Barksdale officiating; K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville directed services. Mrs. Cauble died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by two sons, Jayson Matthew Smith, of Tampa, Fla. and Justin Zane Smith, of Jacksonville; her former husbands, Michael Cauble and Ronald Smith, both of Jacksonville; a sister, Margaret Reshef, of Germany; three brothers, Harlan Baldwin, of Piedmont, Joseph Baldwin, of North Carolina and Eddie Baldwin, of Piedmont; two granddaughters, Amber Lynn Smith and Whitney Addison Smith. Pallbearers were Jayson Matthew Smith, Justin Zane Smith, Chris Cauble, Jeremie Baldwin, William Cauble and Jared Baldwin.

Kimberly Marbut Jamison

Graveside service for Kimberly Marbut Jamison, 40, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Drs. Billy Harris and Derek Staples officiating. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Jamison died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at her residence.

She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Reaves-Loftis and her husband, Richard Loftis; her father, Gary Marbut and his wife, Patsy; one daughter, Emmie Anne Jamison; one son, JonDavid Alan Jamison; one stepsister, Jenifer Hancock; two brothers, Brandon Reaves Marbut and his wife, Beverly and Justin Marbut; one stepbrother, David Hancock; her grandmother, Mildred Gorey Reaves; three nieces and three nephews.

Mrs. Jamison was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Eunice Marbut Sr. and Mr. Fred Reaves.

John Donald McGinnis

Funeral services for John Donald McGinnis, 73, was Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, in Jacksonville, with the Rev. Brandon Pisacrita officiating. Mr. McGinnis died unexpectedly, Saturday morning, Dec. 19, 2009, in Jacksonville.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue McGinnis, of Jacksonville; three daughters, Debby (Blake) Curvin, of Jacksonville, Sherry (Snooky) Taylor, of Wellington, and Vicky (Marvin) Poland, of Anniston; his son, John McGinnis, of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Christy (Johnathon) Patterson, Clint (Jenni) Curvin, Ashley (Jamey) Cranmer, Casey Taylor, Greg Noah and Dustin Noah; five great-grandchildren, Anna Patterson, Ali Patterson, Garrett Cranmer, Luke Curvin and Brenlee Curvin; four sisters, Wanda (Lewis) McCaskill, Sally (Tom) Raines, Lela Reaves and Patsy (Ted) Venable; a special sister-in-law, Sara Ann McGinnis, of Jacksonville; two brothers, Jim (Joy) McGinnis and Mark (Sue Ann) McGinnis and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McGinnis was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville and a home builder throughout Calhoun County. He was owner of McGinnis Quality Homes. Mr. McGinnis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and farming and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed visiting the nursing home on Sunday morning and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. McGinnis was preceded in death by his parents, Drennen and Margarite McGinnis; a sister, Lanoel Brogdon and two brothers, Doug McGinnis and Royce McGinnis.

Janet Carol Sharp

Private funeral services will be held for Janet Carol Sharp. Ms. Sharp passed away on Saturday, November 21.

She is survived by her husband, Adrian F. Aveni; two sons, Morgan Sharp Aveni and Tyler Jackson Aveni; her brother, Mitchell Sharp, of Montgomery; her sister, Joy Sharp, of Washington, D.C.; and her father, Wilburn Sharp, of Anniston.

Janet was a loving mother and wife who enjoyed music, literature, and gardening. She was compassionate toward others and had a special way with animals. All of us who knew Janet will deeply miss her.

Luke Hamlin West

Funeral service for LTC Luke Hamlin West, U.S. Army Retired, 95, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, Jacksonville with the Rev. T. R. Harper officiating. Burial was in Littlejohn Cemetery with full military honors. LTC West died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Jacksonville Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Neu West, of Jacksonville; three daughters, Linda West, of Birmingham, Susan Glover, of Piedmont and Nancy Hamil and her husband, Henry, of Moody; two sons, COL (Ret) Stephen West and his wife, Melissa, of Jacksonville, and David West and his wife Tina, of Wedowee; six grandchildren, Christy Roberts, Brent Mitchell, CPT Stephen West, Amy Pope, Jennifer West and Alex Glover; five great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. Pallbearers were Alex Glover, Brent Mitchell, CPT Stephen West, Nick King, Henry Hamil and Nathan Pope. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Sexton, Garland Estes, Jacob Verrier, Steve Gardner, Leon West and Orville Johnson.

LTC West was a graduate of Auburn (Alabama Polytechnic Institute BS) and the University of Alabama (BA) and served 20 years active service in the U.S. Army. He was a technical writer at Fort Belvoir and Fort McClellan for 28 years making his total service to his country 48 years. His military awards include American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He served as the Chemical School Battalion Commander at Fort McClellan and served on the Fort McClellan Rod and Gun Club Board of Governors. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening and built bird houses. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father, Foster West; his mother, Elba Sexton West; a daughter, Barbara Louise Jones; brothers, Pete and Billy West; a sister, Lorene West and son-in-law, Keith Glover.

Corean Zimmerman Williams

Service for Mrs. Corean Zimmerman Williams, 64, was Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery with Anniston Funeral services in charge. The body will be at the hall one hour prior to services. Mrs. Williams died on Dec. 11, 2009 at UAB.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Williams-Elston, of Antioch, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jomeika Williams, of Anniston and Brandell (Dre) Elston, of Antioch, Tenn.; great-grandchild, Jayvion Williams, of Anniston; three sisters, Shirley (Charles) Ferrell, of Coldwater, Barbara Shedd, of Oxford, and Linda Greene, of Weaver; two brothers, Thomas Zimmerman, of Jacksonville, and Harris Zimmerman Jr., of Birmingham. Mrs. Zimmerman was a Calhoun native and was a member of Kingdom Hall and was preceded by her parents, Harris and Margaret Zimmerman and a brother, Lee Zimmerman and sister, Mary Delois.
