West Side Baptist church celebrates the holidays

Christmas activities are in full swing at West Side Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Last Sunday night, the church held its annual "Hanging of the Greens" service.

Sunday night, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. the church will have a Singspiration Service built around the theme of Christmas. This service will feature church family and friends singing Christmas songs, readings and dramatizations of the season. The community is invited to come and participate in this service. Sunday night, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m., the West Side Baptist Church Adult Choir will present its annual Christmas Cantata. This year they will present, Near To The Heart Of God, written by Dave Clark and Russell Maulden and Arranged Russell Mauldin.

The choir will be directed in this presentation by Mr. Tom Holland, Minister of Music at West Side. The public is cordially invited to attend.

On Sunday nigh, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. the church will have its annual Caroling Around The Tables service. This special service is built around both the event of Jesus's birth and modern day Christmas songs with puzzles and puppets. This event would be a casual way for the community to worship during the Christmas Season.

On Thursday afternoon, Dec. 24 the church will host its annual Christmas Eve Service of Carols and Candles at 5 p.m. The service will feature the story of Christmas, a brief meditation on Christmas and the Lords Supper. The public is cordially invited to participate in this special Christmas event.
