Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Larry Amerson, Ken Rollins, and Lt. Col. Don Hull officiating, with full military honors. Major Aide died Friday, November 6, 2009, in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Aide, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Barbara Sifuentes, of Carrollton, Texas, and Linda D'Anzi, of Brighton, England; two sons, Lewis Aide, of Columbia, Maryland, and Daniel Aide, of Springfield, Virginia, and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be military. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Rollins, Matt Pepe, Lt. Col. Don Hull, Jim Hibbitts, Jim Allen, Dan Aide, Lewis Aide, VVA Chapter 502, The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge.
Fouad was commissioned from the University of Texas ROTC Program in 1953. He served as a Military Police Officer for his 20 years in the Army. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam, with one year as an Infantry Officer. He was recalled to active duty for service in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He was attached to the FBI on their Terrorism Task Force because of his expertise in the various Arabic dialects and cultures. He was fluent in Arabic, Spanish and Vietnamese and had a good working knowledge of Italian, Portuguese and French. He was the Chief, International Military Student Office of USAMPS for 33 years. Some of Major Aide's awards and decorations include three awards of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with seven campaigns. For his combat service in Vietnam, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge. Affiliations: Military Order of the Purple Heart; Anniston Morning Rotary Club; Deputy Sheriff, Calhoun County; Past Chaplain of the Fraternal Order of Police; Past President and charter member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 502; and Commander of the Fallen Comrade Unit of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 502.

BORDERSFuneral services for Kenneth Lamar Borders, 60, were Monday at 11 a.m. at Life Worship Center in Saks with the Rev. Jonathan Pate officiating.
Private entombment was at Anniston Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mr. Borders was welcomed into his heavenly home on Saturday, November 14, 2009. He was greatly loved by his family and friends, but perfectly loved by his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Sudie Borders; three sons, Shannon Borders, Scottie Borders and Brian Borders (Lori); one step-son, Peter J. Straub; a sister, Merlene Jennings; three grandchildren, Cole Bruce, Angel Bruce and Taylor Borders and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ira Borders; his first wife, Peggy Borders and sisters, Josephine (Jo) Nabors, Margaret Bowman and Orville (Bud) Borders.
Mr. Borders was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He attended school in Saks and was a member of Life Worship Center. BROWNFuneral services for Helen Christine Conner Brown, 81, was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Faith Temple Christian Center with the Rev. T.R. Harper officiating. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center directing. Burial was in the Jacksonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at McGuffey Health and Rehab in Gadsden.
She is survived by her three children, Donita Brown Militano, of Gadsden, Bryan Clark (Brenda), of Red Springs, N.C., and Deborah Brown Harris (Dean), of Gardendale; her sister, Darlene Conner Gaddy (Claude, Logan), of Jacksonville and by her brother, L.C. Conner, of Bessemer. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jeremy Harris, Brad Brown, Jonathan Harris, Heather Brown Chavis (Anthony), and Jessica Harris; four great-grandchildren, Destany Wallen, Caleb Brown, and Jaikorrien Copeland and Dameon Hunt; nephews, Chris Gaddy (Jamie, Enzia and Isaac) and Steve Gaddy (Sarah and Jorja).
Pallbearers will be Chris Gaddy, Claude Gaddy, Frank Reid, Reuben Ledbetter, David Brown and Britt Whited. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, retired from Jacksonville State University, loved attending church at Faith Temple Christian Center and always loved helping people. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hammett died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Jacksonville Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katherine Jamison Hammett; three sons, David Hammett and his wife, Becky, Ray Hammett and his wife, Rhonda, and Gary Hammett and his wife, Patti; eight grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ralph Hammett, Rick Hammett, Kimani Brown, Jim Fuller, Jim Skidmore, John Hammett, Harris Mynatt and Adam Blalock. Mr. Hammett was co-owner of Hammett Oil for 42 years. He served three years in the military; two years being in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and eighteen months in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a supply sergeant. Mr. Hammett was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Letha Hammett and his brother, Bernard Hammett.

She is survived by her three children, Janice Parris and her husband, Harvey, of Jacksonville, Wilma Gooch and her husband, Owen, of Birmingham, Michael Romines, of Atlanta, Ga., and two chosen children, Deborah Batey and Scott Upton. She is preceded in death by her son, David Romines. She is survived by two sisters, Louise Hanley, of Maryville, Tenn. and Mary Russell, of Freedville, Tenn. She is preceded in death by four sisters, Naomi, Dorothy, Helen and Polly. She is also survived by one brother, Tommy Millsaps and his wife, Linda, of Alcoa, Tenn. and is preceded in death by five brothers, Jackson, George, Herbert, Jay and Kenley. She is survived by four grandchildren, DeRhonda Odom and her husband, Rickey, of Weaver, Lee Romines and his wife, Tasha, of White Plains, Shelly Pettus and her husband, Dale, of Douglasville, Ga., Kennan Gooch, of Fla.; one chosen granddaughter, Lecresha Clark; eight great-grandchildren, Lacey Ogden, Hunter Gooch, Amber, Payton and Garrett Pettus, and Katlyn, Hanna and Ashley Romines; six nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Lee Romines, Larry Clark, Howell Lett, Kenneth Johnson, Steve Rayburn and Rickey Ogden. Mrs. Romines was a WMU and a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church. She loved to travel and served as a Pink Lady at Jacksonville Hospital for eight years. She loved her children and grandchildren and adored her baby bird, "Pete."
