Funeral service for Adolph D. Anders Sr. 73, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at St. Paul CME with the Rev. Bernard Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Johnnie Anders; children Bonita Fleming, Warren Adams, Mack Watley, Adolph Anders Jr., Octavia Anders; brother, Herbert Anders, Lloyd Ellis Sr.; sister, Nellie Davis; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, grandson, Maynard Wiggins, and sister, Mabel Anders.
MARGARET BROOKS
Funeral services for Margaret Casey Brooks, 82, will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Revs. Bill Caudle and Ken Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Brooks died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at RMC in Anniston.
She is survived two sons, Michael (Cynthia) Brooks of Orlando, Florida, and Randy (Patsy) Brooks of Anniston, Alabama; four grandchildren, Jon (Aja) Brooks, William Brooks, Robert Brooks, and Mary Katherine Brooks; two great grandchildren, Christian Brooks and Cohen Brooks; four nieces Jane (Brice) Hay, Carolyn (Danny) Matthews, Linda (Charles) Leech and Kathy (Doug) Dunning; two nephews, Ray (Sara) Casey and Charles (Gaynell) Casey; and a special friend, Leonard Gorey. Pallbearers will be Charles Casey, Ray Casey, Brice Hay, Danny Matthews, Gene Lokette and John Maurer. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class, West Side Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brooks was a member of West Side Baptist church who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Brooks, Jr. and a son Ralph L. Brooks. Funeral services for Mary Linda Muncher Hill, 63, were Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel. Cremation followed the service. Mrs. Hill died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Jacksonville Medical Center. Funeral services for Doris Angel Calhoun Lipham, 84, will be Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Angel Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in charge of services. The family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday, from 10-11 a.m. Mrs. Lipham died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Noland Healthcare at RMC of Anniston.
She is survived by her son, Mark F. Calhoun, and his wife, Alison Brewer Calhoun, of Shoal Creek; her daughter, Janis Calhoun Rhodes, and her husband Earl Eugene Rhodes II, of Jacksonville; one sister, Nannie Sue Angel Stephenson, and her husband Alvin, of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Jamie Calhoun Mauck, and her husband Gary, of Dacono, CO, Jared M. Calhoun, of Scottsdale, AZ, Mary Martha Calhoun Knowlton, and her husband Andrew, of Birmingham and Anna Katherine Calhoun, of Birmingham; one great grandchild, Hayden James Mauck, of Dacono, CO; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Andrew Knowlton, Jared Calhoun, Randy O'Donnell, Sonny Stephenson, Wendell Wilson and Mike Witherby.
Mrs. Lipham was a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church. She taught elementary school for a total of 42 years and 10 months at Saks Elementary and Cedar Springs Elementary Schools. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lipham loved to travel and also enjoyed playing bridge which she learned during her seventies. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles F. Calhoun; her second husband, Garland L. Lipham; her sister, Edna Angel Wilson; and her parents, Will and Willie Angel.
