I know many of you still haven't gotten used to the change in address for The Jacksonville News, but I'm asking you to accept one more change, a change in reporters.

At the end of May, well before the recent move to the Consolidated Publishing building in Anniston was even brought up for discussion, an opportunity presented itself. So, even though I have loved my time at The News, I put in an application. Recently, I learned I had the job.

Over the last few weeks I've been vacillating back and forth between being excited and nervous about the new opportunities, personally and professionally, this job will offer me and being sad at having to leave a job where my coworkers have become like a second family to me.

As I told my managing editor, John Alred, when I resigned from the paper, this job change has nothing to do with our recent move and is in no way due to any unhappiness on my part. I'm just answering opportunity's knock.

In my place comes a fresh face, in more ways than one.
