Anniston police on Friday were investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night in the parking lot of a store on Alabama 202 in which the suspect made off with the victim’s car, according to a police report.

According to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks, the 42-year-old victim stopped at the store, on 2300 block Alabama 202, and when he walked out, a man approached him brandishing a handgun, Sparks said.

He stole the victim’s 2005 Nissan Infiniti, Sparks said. The sergeant said he did not know whether the victim gave the suspect the keys to the vehicle or whether it was unlocked at the time of the robbery. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The vehicle is worth $13,000, according to a police report.

There were no suspects as of Friday morning, according to Sparks. Any suspect could face felony charges of first-degree robbery, according to a police report.
