If you have any business with Calhoun County government, you won’t be doing it today.

Circuit Clerk Eli Henderson said Wednesday night that on the call of commission chairman Tim Hodges, the county administration building would be closed all day.

Circuit Judge Brian Howell had previously announced Calhoun County Courthouse would be closed for the day.

Henderson said he also learned through city of Anniston sources that city garbage pickup will resume today at noon — after the thaw begins — and will continue Friday and Saturday to get everything back on schedule.

All Cleburne County public schools are also closed today due to road conditions, according to faxed information from Superintendent Claire Dryden.

Being postponed today is the annual meeting of Interfaith Ministries, a social service agency based in Anniston. Martha Vandervoort of Interfaith said the meeting will instead be held Feb. 11 at First Christian Church. A roundtable discussion that was to have been held in conjunction with the meeting is cancelled, she said.
