I would like to know why the Jacksonville Board of Education does not want to consider restoring Kitty Stone Elementary and Eastwood School for pre-K or other uses. This would keep the school located where most children live. By doing this it would save taxpayers millions of dollars.

Moving the school in the same area as the high school would create a traffic nightmare at the intersection of Alabama 21 and George Douthitt Drive. This traffic could also hinder emergency vehicles from the planned police/fire station, not to mention Wal-Mart traffic thrown in.

This issue is best to be decided by voters in Jacksonville, not influenced by home-building contractors.
