Mark David Smith’s tip-in basket overcame Wellborn’s 75-74 lead as Ranburne improved to 5-0 in the area. Corri Tignor scored a field goal late in the fourth quarter to tie the contest 71-71 and force the extra period.
The Panthers got double-doubles from Tignor, Devron Taylor and Landon Machristie. Taylor scored 35 points, made 10 steals and nabbed six rebounds. His final four points, on a 3-point basket and a free throw, put Wellborn up 75-71 early in the overtime. Tignor finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks. Machristie had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Jordan Montgomery added 12 rebounds for Wellborn.
Dylan Wiggins had a double-double for Ranburne, 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Lovvorn netted 17 points and had six boards. Brayden Wilson ended with 14 points and six rebounds. Mark David Smith scored 12 points and Owen Smith had two 3-pointers and eight points for the Bulldogs.
Ranburne (9-5) will travel to Cleburne County today. Wellborn (5-8, 4-2) will host Donoho on Monday.
Anniston 61, Munford 34: Anniston (11-5) won on the road as Qua Frazier had 15 points and 10 rebounds. DeMarcus Thomas added 14 points, and Quint Dobbins pitched in 11.
For Munford, Tavon Lawson had 10 points, while Monteo Garrett and Cameron Turner nine each.
Alexandria 60, Cherokee County 45: Riley Shaw led the winners with 11 points and six rebounds. Alexandria (10-4) will play Southside at home today.
For Cherokee County, Tony Pruitt had 16 points.
Ragland 57, Donoho 50: Chris Carr had 14 points to lead Donoho. Justin Foster added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Axis Heathcock contributed eight points and six rebounds.
For Ragland, Jaylen Brewster and Kijana Lindsay each scored 14 points.
Donoho (10-3) will play today at home against Wadley at 3 p.m.
Bowdon (Ga.) 68, Randolph County 65: Elijah McFarland had 32 points for Randolph County in its loss. He sank 18 of 24 foul shots and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Willis Knight added 12 points.
Randolph County (5-6) will play at Beulah on Monday.
Jacksonville Christian 54, Cedar Bluff 48: Alex Jones nailed three 3-pointers and scored 30 points to pace JCA. Teammate Tyler Morales added 11 points with the help of three 3-pointers of his own.
Daylon Brackett pulled down 17 rebounds.
JCA (7-8) will play at Ragland today.
Faith Christian 57, Ohatchee 48: Josiah McDaniel scored 22 points to pace Faith Christian, while London Huie added 11.
The Lions (5-10) will play Tuesday at home against Jacksonville Christian.
For Ohatchee, Dillon Parker scored 29 points, making four 3-pointers.
Hokes Bluff 63, Jacksonville 44: Cam Horton scored 13 for the Golden Eagles, while Sid Thurmond pitched in 10. Isaac Hass led Hokes Bluff with 26.
Anniston 61, Munford 32: Quanetria Bolton had another big night as Anniston High’s girls basketball team won at Munford.
Bolton, an Alabama signee, managed 33 points, 18 rebounds, nine steals, four assists and three blocked shots.
Ki-Yana Bullock added 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Marticia Jackson contributed nine points and three steals.
Anniston (13-4) will play Sylacauga at home Tuesday.
Cedar Bluff 65, Jacksonville Christian 30: Elysabeth Morales pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds to go with her six points in JCA’s loss. Sarah Crook pitched in nine points.
JCA (9-6) will play at Ragland today.
Woodland 81, Pleasant Valley 26: The defending Class 2A state champions won an Area 10 game behind four players scoring in double figures.
Jaide Walker had 24 points, while Adre Bowen and Shanna Strain each added 14. Leah Strain scored 11 points.
Woodland (16-1) will play today at Ohatchee.
For Pleasant Valley, Tiffany Williams scored 10 points.
Ranburne 62, Wellborn 33: Indiana Morgan made all eight of her foul shots and finished with 16 points for Ranburne.
Alyssa Smith, Hannah Phillips and Hali Wilson each had 12 points. Phillips pulled down nine rebounds, while Smith had six.
Ranburne (10-6, 4-1 in Class 2A, Area 9) led 43-15 at halftime. The Bulldogs will play at Cleburne County today.
For Wellborn, Dymond Myles had 14 points, and Carlee Mullinax pitched in 13.
Ragland 54, Donoho 19: The Falcons fell but got 11 points from Anna Marie Woodfin and six points from Amanda Sherer.
Donoho will play at home today against Wadley.
Hokes Bluff 52, Jacksonville 50: Angel Kidd scored 18 points for Jacksonville, while Virginia Poe added 11. For Hokes Bluff, Carley Sheilds scored 20 points.
