PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) — An Alabama woman got double lucky at a Mississippi casino, hitting $90,000 jackpots two days in a row.

The first came on her first pull on a $100 machine on New Year's Day, Charlotte Moncrief of Anniston told The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss.

"There was a lot of jackpots going off, so I just decided to put $100 in a $100 machine. The first pull, I got $90,000," she said, chuckling. "Isn't that good?"

She returned the next day to the Silver Star Hotel and Casino in Philadelphia, Miss. — nearly a 4-hour drive from Anniston — and won again.

"You know, I hollered the first one," she said. "The second one, I think my mouth just fell open."

The Silver Star is one of two casinos at Pearl River Resort, owned by The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. A press release called Moncrief's two jackpots the luckiest New Year ever.

Moncrief, a retired information technology worker at an Anniston foundry, said she and her roommate have visited the Pearl River Resort about once a month for about eight years.

"I'll be going back to Pearl River some," she said. "And I may get a car, who knows?"
