Tyrelle Gay scored 13 points to lead Alexandria to a 70-57 win over Glencoe in the Glencoe Holiday Shootout on Saturday.

C.J. Swink, Dakota Kelley and Gabe Marchal all added 11 points for the Valley Cubs.

Alexandria (7-3) plays Jacksonville Monday as the tournament continues.

Jacksonville 53, Pleasant Valley 35: Sid Thurmond and Cam Horton scored 15 points each in the Golden Eagles’ win over the Raiders in the Glencoe Holiday Shootout.

Jacksonville (6-6) plays Alexandria on Monday as the tournament continues.

Saks 57, St. Clair County 46: Monty Young led the Wildcats to a win in the Springville tournament, finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Tre Smith added 11 points for Saks (5-4), who travels to Jacksonville Jan. 2.

Heard County, Ga., 51, Spring Garden 40: Heard County, Ga., outscored Spring Garden 22-2 in the second quarter of the semifinals of the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational tournament to put the game out of reach.

Will Westbrook led the Panthers with 16 points.

Spring Garden plays Rockmart, Ga., Monday in the consolation game.

Girls

Woodland 49, Oneonta 37:
It will be Woodland, last year’s Class 2A girls’ state champions, against last year’s Class 3A winner and tournament host Lauderdale County in Monday’s championship game of the Northwest Alabama Christmas tournament at Rogersville.

Woodland survived early foul trouble but trailed 23-22 at halftime. The Bobcats led 35-33 after three quarters, extended that lead to two possessions and forced Oneonta to foul in the fourth quarter.

Shalyn Strain and Shanna Strain each went 2-for-2 at the line in the fourth and Leah Strain was 2-for-4 as Woodland converted nine of 14 trips as a team.

Leah Strain finished with 20 points. Shanna Strain and Adre Bowen each tallied nine points.

Woodland (14-0) and Lauderdale County tip at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Cleburne County 31, Haralson County, Ga., 25: Alisa Norton and Kiara Akles scored eight points each to lead the Tigers to the championship game of the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational tournament.

Norton added three assist sand three steals, and Akles finished with five rebounds and three steals.

Cleburne County (8-4) plays Spring Garden on Monday in the championship game.

Spring Garden 53, South Paulding, Ga., 26: Haley Motes scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Spring Garden advanced to the championship game of the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational tournament.

Tykeah Rogers added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Darian Gaines finished with 12 points.

Spring Garden (12-2) plays Cleburne County on Monday for the championship.

G.W. Carver 49, Anniston 27: Quanetria Bolton led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort in the Dwight Madison Roundball Classic in Montgomery on Friday.

Ki-Yana Bullock added six points and 14 rebounds for Anniston.

Kendra Fowler led Carver with 12 points.

Anniston (10-4) hosts A.H. Parker on Friday.
