TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is one of the top targets in the University of Washington's search for a head coach, according to a report from the Seattle Times.

Washington is looking to replace Steve Sarkisian, who recently accepted the USC job.

Citing multiple anonymous sources, the report says Nussmeier and Boise State coach Chris Peterson are the top two candidates.

Nussmeier served as Washington's offensive coordinator from 2009-2011 before joining Alabama in 2012.

Nussmeier has expressed interest in the job, according to the Times.
