I was in Mrs. Mixon’s fifth-grade class at Dadeville Elementary in Dadeville.

One of our classmates, Jimmy Evers, lived close enough to school that he was allowed to go home and eat lunch and come back to school. He came back from lunch and told us that President Kennedy had been shot. And, to my recollection, regretfully so, most of the class clapped. I’m thinking that this was my remembrance of where I was when JFK was shot.
