Miss Gina Rae Smith and U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Cory Ryan Christoffer were married May 4, 2013, in a lakeside ceremony at the home of Bob and Bonnie VanTil in Southlake, Texas. Pastor Ben Davis performed the ceremony. Song selections from the Church of the Highlands album “Place of Freedom” and Hillsong Chapel album “Forever Reign” were played prior to the wedding.

Parents of the bride are Reggie Howell Smith of Anniston and Dennis Smith of Tallassee. Parents of the groom are Mitchell and Peggy Christoffer of Trophy Club, Texas.

Grandparents of the bride are the late Oyal M. Howell and Mildred Howell Word, and the late Stephen Q. Smith and Lola E. Smith, all of Oxford.

Grandparents of the groom are Harland and Joanne Christoffer of Marshall, Minn., Arlene Taylor of Grapevine, Texas, and the late Roger Taylor of San Antonio, Texas.

The bride was given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, Matt Smith.

Bridesmaids were Kelly Clayton and Katie Troseth, the groom’s sisters, and Shannon Smith, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Ava Rose Christoffer, the groom’s daughter.

Flower girls were Jordan McMahan, the bride’s cousin, and Taylor Troseth, the groom’s niece.

Maid of honor was Piper Smith, the bride’s niece.

Groomsmen were Donald Clayton, the groom’s brother-in-law, Maxwell Kunstmann, the bride’s cousin, and Matt Smith, the bride’s brother.

Ring bearers were Carter Clayton, Carson Troseth, and Will Troseth, the groom’s nephews.

Usher was Payton Smith, the bride’s nephew.

Best man was Wes Troseth, the groom’s brother-in-law.

The groom deployed to Afghanistan shortly after the wedding. The couple plans to honeymoon when he returns. They currently call Montgomery home.

The bride wore a strapless ivory gown with a sweetheart bodice, gentle ruching at the waist, and a sweep train. The dress featured lace over satin and subtle sequins scattered throughout the lace. She wore a white Phalaenopsis orchid in her hair, and an ivory fingertip veil edged in lace. The veil was the bride’s “something borrowed” from her dear friend, Brittany DuBose Matthews. The bride and her attendants carried bouquets of pink roses and coral Gerbera daisies.
