An injured woman was taken to Regional Medical Center after a wreck at the corner of Alabama 202 and Lagarde Avenue this evening.

No information was immediately available concerning the woman’s condition, a worker at Regional Medical Center said this evening.

The two-vehicle wreck involved a gray Nissan Altima and a tractor-trailer truck, Anniston police investigator Michael Webb said. According to Webb, the woman was driving the Altima west on Alabama 202 when the driver of the 18-wheeler attempted to turn into the westbound lane from Lagarde Avenue.

According to the investigator, the truck driver failed to yield at the intersection, and the Altima smashed into the 18-wheeler. The driver of the truck required no medical treatment, Webb said.
