The John H. Forney district is made up of seven chapters in the northern region of which four chapters are more than 100 years old. The 100-year-old chapters include Anniston’s General William H. Forney; Jacksonville’s General John H. Forney; Guntersville’s Marshall Boys and Fort Payne’s DeKalb. Other chapters in this district include Gadsden’s Etowah; Oxford’s Confederate Dames and Childersburg’s Kymulga.
Awards received this year for work in UDC objectives were Standard of Excellence Honor Roll award; Confederate Flag Use award and a Seth Cook Wounded Warrior project certificate. The Forney district received the Jean Coniff Roberts trophy and Mrs. Idly King Sorsby trophy.
