Investigators say a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Saks last week was set intentionally.

The incident occurred Friday at the 100 block of Joni Lee Lane.

Anniston fire Capt. Joel Roberts said that because the damage to the home was so extensive, investigators could not determine how the fire was set.

Roberts said the home had been unoccupied for several years, and it did not have electricity at the time of the fire.

A firefighter was injured while responding to the blaze last week. Though Roberts did not know the man’s condition, he said he believes the firefighter did not require hospitalization.
