A motorcycle and a pickup truck crashed at the intersection of Quintard Avenue and 16th Street in Anniston Thursday afternoon, sending both drivers to a local hospital.
Anniston police investigator Michael Webb said the victims, a 32-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, appeared to have no life-threatening injuries.
Webb said the two vehicles crashed around 12:15 p.m. According to the investigator, the woman was westbound on 16th Street in a black Ford Explorer when she tried to cross into the southbound lane on Quintard.
Webb said the woman didn’t yield at the median and hit a man driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The impact caused the Explorer to crash into the curb on the corner of 16th Street, where it flipped.
Webb said the Anniston firefighters managed to pry the woman out of her vehicle, and Anniston EMS took both victims to Regional Medical Center.
Efforts to reach RMC staff to ask about the condition of the victims were unsuccessful.
