Prep volleyball: Donoho rolls to Class 1A, Area 6 victory at Wadley

Donoho’s volleyball team rolled to a 25-4, 25-7, 25-13 road win over Wadley in Class 1A, Area 6 play Thursday as Corey Phillis had a team-high seven kills.

Rylee Segrest added eight aces and 19 assists, while Hannah Christian contributed three aces.

Donoho (7-1) will play again Monday at Cedar Bluff.

Sacred Heart 2, Ragland 1; Sacred Heart 2, Vincent 0 – Zainab Sansui and Kristin Rothwell each had 10 kills as Sacred Heart swept a pair of matches at Ragland, beating the hosts 21-25, 25-15, 15-8 and Vincent 25-15, 25-19.

Rothwell added 10 aces, while Sansui and Anna Kerper contributed five each. Kerper also had 25 assists.

Sacred Heart (5-3) is at Ohatchee on Monday.

Oxford 2, Etowah 0; Oxford 2, Fort Payne 0 – Brianna Nolan’s 13 kills led Oxford (3-3) in the Yellow Jackets’ sweep on two opponents, beating Etowah 25-14, 25-19 and Fort Payne 25-16, 25-16.

Nolan also had five digs. Lexie Higgins contributed nine kills, eight digs and five aces. Katie Skinner gave seven digs and 17 assists, while Morgan Whaley had seven digs and 18 assists.

Alexandria 3, Hokes Bluff 0 – Alexandria defeated Hokes Bluff 25-16, 25-16, 25-20, getting eight kills from Kaitlyn Brown.

Kalie Golden added 27 assists, and Madi Shanks contributed nine digs.

Alexandria will play again Monday at home against Cherokee County.

Ohatchee 3, Wellborn 1 – On Tuesday night, Ohatchee scored a 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 victory as Mattie Coger had 16 assists.

Morgan Lee led with 10 kills and eight digs for Ohatchee (3-2). Joria Steger and Silver Miller had nine kills each. Kaelin Cobb and Peyton Stienburg each managed eight digs.
