Justin Aundre Lee, 22, of Atlanta, was charged with six counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and illegal possession or use of a credit card, all felonies.
Anniston police Capt. Allen George said Lee was responsible for breaking into seven cars between 6 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9 a.m. Aug. 12. The break-ins occurred on the 5600 block of Fairwood Avenue, the 700 block Inglewood Drive, the 5900 block of Amber Lane and the 600 block of Brentwood Drive, George said.
Items stolen included two wallets, a purse, a stereo system, a digital camera and $7 in coins.
None of the vehicles showed signs of forced entry, George said, and he believes they were unlocked.
Police discovered Lee’s identity through Walmart security footage after he used a stolen credit card at the store, the captain said. George today said more charges could be pending for Lee. The captain also expects additional arrests to be made in the more than 30 break-ins reported last week in Anniston.
Lee was in the Anniston City Jail today, George said. Bond is set at $105,000. A court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 16.
