And then there are the inspirational quotes, the pearls of wisdom. The proverbs. The adages. The mottos.
Be bold enough to use your voice, brave enough to listen to your heart and strong enough to live the life you’ve always imagined!
The life I’ve always imagined involves a lot of world travel and disposable income. I’m actually quite happy where I am, thank you, raising a family, even though it’s not at all the life I once envisioned for myself.
My to-do list for today: 1. Count my blessings. 2. Practice kindness. 3. Let go of what I can’t control. 4. Listen to my heart. 5. Be productive yet calm. 6. Just breathe.
Please. I’ve never accomplished six things on my to-do list in one day. And if you really want me to let go of what I can’t control, then I’m not cleaning up my son’s room anymore. While we’re at it, my heart is telling me it’s really tired of washing dishes three times a day.
The secret to life is easy. Laugh. Eat chocolate. Don’t be a jerk. The rest you can’t control, so stop trying.
What if I can’t control how much chocolate I eat?
Optimist: Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s more like a cha-cha.
Sorry, I can’t dance.
I’d rather look back at my life and say, “I can’t believe I did that” instead of saying “I wish I did that.”
I can’t believe I waited so long to have the house trim repainted. I wish I hadn’t done that.
It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy.
I’m thankful that I’m happy, and I’m happy that I’m thankful. I’m also thankful when I’m unhappy.
Making a big life change is pretty scary. But, know what’s even scarier? Regret.
Misplaced commas are scarier than regret.
Cowboy & Cowgirl rules to live by: Never hate. Don’t worry. Live simply. Expect a little. Give a lot. Always smile. Live with love. Be close to God.
Does this mean Bobby McFerrin was a cowboy? Also, by “live simply,” do you mean “spend two months on horseback driving 2,500 head of cattle through 700 miles of hostile country?”
Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.
If life is short, then I’m not wasting any more time flossing.
