Anniston police today were investigating a burglary at a house on the 3300 block of Stevens Street.

According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George, the burglary occurred sometime between May 15 and June 23 between noon and 3 p.m. George said he assumed the house had been vacant at the time of the burglary.

The homeowner reported the burglary to police this morning.

George said the suspect broke into the house through the basement door and cut copper tubing out of the ceiling.

The total cost of the damage is $1,750, according to a police report. There were no suspects Tuesday morning, George said.

Any suspects could face felony third-degree burglary charges, according to a police report.
