Police were investigating Monday 25 compound hunting bows stolen this weekend from an Anniston sporting goods store.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the owner of Champion Archery and Hunting Supplies located at 4297 Old Birmingham Highway called police Sunday after a friend discovered the business had been burglarized. George said the owner found the front door of the store forced open and the power was out. Police discovered the power meter behind the store was also damaged, George said.

The bows were valued at $15,000, according to a police report.

Attempts to reach the owner of Champion Archery and Hunting Supplies Monday were unsuccessful.

George said that police were investigating the burglary and had no suspects.

Any suspects could be charged with felony third-degree burglary.
