Anniston police on Friday were investigating a robbery in which a truck driver reported being held at gunpoint behind a gas station.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the incident occurred on Thursday, just after the driver finished delivering cases of Budweiser to the Shell gas station on the corner of Quintard Avenue and 18th Street. When the driver went to the trash bin out back to throw away garbage, a man came out from behind the trasn bin with a nickel-plated handgun and demanded money, the captain said.

George said the victim told police the robber was a man wearing sunglasses, blue jeans and black shoes. The victim also said the robber had a blue T-shirt pulled over his face.

The victim told police he did not know the robber.

George said there was no evidence found at the scene.

The suspect took more than $2,000 from the victim. The suspect could face charges of first-degree robbery, according to a police report.
