A woman allegedly assaulted a nurse this morning at Regional Medical Center, according to Anniston police.

Ronetta Lashay Armbrester, 20, of Anniston was a patient at RMC this morning between 2 o’clock and 2:30, Sgt. Chris Sparks said. While Armbrester was being treated, she reportedly hit a nurse in the face with her fist, Sparks said.

The sergeant said the nurse sustained bruises around her left eye.

Armbrester was arrested at RMC shortly after the incident and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, Sparks said.

Attempts to reach a spokeswoman at RMC this morning were unsuccessful.

Armbrester was in the Anniston City Jail this morning, Sparks said. State records show her bond is set at $5,000. A court date in the case is scheduled for May 6.
