The homeowner, a 53-year-old Anniston man, does not live at the residence, Sgt. Chris Sparks said. Sparks said the man discovered a window forced open at a home on the 2100 block of Leighton Avenue.
Two air-conditioning units and an air-handler coil were taken from the home, according to a police report. The items are valued at $9,800, the report stated. An air-condition duct also sustained $300 in damage.
Sparks said the units were stored in the basement of the home. The burglary reportedly happened between March 28 and April 2, the sergeant said.
A suspect will likely face charges of third-degree burglary, a felony. Additional charges could be filed, pending a police investigation, Sparks said Wednesday afternoon.
