The fading spirit of Anniston

Anniston seems to have a hard time keeping up with the suburb of Oxford. Despite some downtown renovations and new businesses, it remains ghostlike.

The little something that would make Anniston kick is missing. With the country and western influence everywhere, we need something different to break the monotony in this town. Maybe a few different clubs for youth and seniors would help.

Meanwhile, Oxford is exploding with new businesses, and the best restaurants are found there. Publix opened recently, giving Anniston another shot in the leg.

If Anniston wants to succeed in getting more customers to shop here, it needs to get in high gear and come up with a positive input that will attract people. Compared to Oxford, Anniston is a sleeping town waiting to get into action. Maybe a mall would give it the needed swing.
