A “Wreaths across America” event will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Fort McClellan Military cemetery. The event is part of a national program to remember deceased veterans during the holiday season. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, young Marines and 4H Green Team members will decorate 355 graves to honor veterans and family members who served our nation at Fort McClellan. Even though the cemetery is located on Fort McClellan, it is managed and maintained by Anniston Army Depot. Col. Brent Bolander, the depot commander, is scheduled to speak. The annual Christmas festival and parade for the community of Piedmont, in conjunction with the City of Piedmont, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in downtown Piedmont near the gazebo. Arts/crafts, music, the 3rd annual trade day and more will be part of the event.
