World Yoshukai Karate of Anniston, Jacksonville and Oxford held their first “Team One Yoshukai” Tournament last month. The closed tournament for elite Yoshukai students was a great success. World Yoshukai Karate has been a part of Calhoun County for more than 25 years. The Yoshukai training program teaches physical fitness, life skills, safety and self defense and behavior issues.All ages and belt ranks competitors had their choice of six divisions to compete -- musical kata, board breaking, open hand kata, weapons (nunchuck, bo, sai, tonfa, samuri sword), point sparring, semi-knockout sparring.
A special performance was performed by “Wee Warrior” Michael Burnett, age 4.
