Warriors move to 6-0

CENTRE — Jacob Morgan ran for 94 yards on 13 carries with two scores and added three catches for 63 yards and two touchdowns to helped Cherokee County remain unbeaten with a 45-18 win over St. Clair County.

The Warriors (6-0, 4-0 Class 4A, Region 6) got on the board early in the first quarter on Morgan's 1-yard touchdown run. Issac Jones added the extra point to give Cherokee County a 7-0 lead.

St. Clair County answered with an 86-yard kick return later in the quarter, but failed on the extra point to trail.

Gabriel Chambers increased the Warriors' lead with a 71-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter.

Koty Blanchard added the next two touchdowns with runs of 1 and 48 yards. He also added a stellear night passing — 14-for-18 for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

The Warriors padded their lead with Blanchard's arm. He connected with Morgan again for a touchdown, this time for 7 yards.

Morgan then scored on a 13-yard run to push the Warrior lead to 42-18 later in the third. Jones added a 37-yard field goal in the fourth quarter for the final.
