Tuberville, Saban, Petrino and Nutt will headline intrigue-rich chatterfest

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville will hear questions about his quarterback race, but he can also expect questions about new Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino.

Petrino, who served as Tuberville's offensive coordinator before taking the head coaching job as Louisville, will forever be tied to Tuberville in a negative way. Thanks to an ill-fated, clandestine trip by two Auburn trustees and the school's former president and athletics director to try and hire Petrino in 2003, there is plenty of angst surrounding the two.

It's almost a guarantee that Petrino will also get questions about his relationship with Tuberville. Petrino's exodus from Atlanta could receive attention, as well.

The coaches and select players from all 12 Southeastern Conference schools, will meet in Birmingham beginning on Wednesday for SEC Media Days.

For the first time in a couple of years, no coach will be on the hot seat. They will still feel the heat as reporters grill them about the upcoming season. Tuberville and Petrino aren't the only tasty topics on the menu.

Former Arkansas coach Houston Nutt will likely see plenty of questions about the school he left for Ole Miss.

The season stacks up to be a strong one for the SEC with several teams in position to contend for a national title. The SEC owns back-to-back national championships, thanks to Florida and LSU.

Meanwhile, Nick Saban begins the second season of his rebuilding project at Alabama.
