Auburn continued its stream of commitments for the 2009 football recruiting class Wednesday when St. Clair County defensive end Donald Ford pledged to the Tigers. He becomes Auburn's 19th commitment for 2009. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Ford, unrated by Rivals.com, told Rivals-affiliated AuburnSports.com that he had scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State, Clemson and Troy. As a junior, Ford helped St. Clair County win a Class 4A, Region 5 title with 13 sacks in 12 games. He blocked two punts and played running back. Oral commitments are non-binding. The national signing period starts Feb. 4, 2009. |
