Gamecocks sign Nebraska transfer

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville State basketball program reported "a big addition" Thursday, but one it won't be able to use until the 2009-10 season. The Gamecocks, in an e-mail stamped one minute before the end of business on July 3, said Jay-R Strowbridge of Huntsville has transferred from Nebraska. He's a 5-foot-11 point guard who averaged 4.8 points last year and will have two years eligibility left. It's the first basketball news of any kind the school has announced since hiring James Green as its new coach in April. Attempts to reach team officials for further comment were unsuccessful. |
