AUBURN — New Auburn baseball coach John Pawlowski will certainly inherit some top talent.

Fletcher hit .324 with 10 homers and 42 RBIs this season, playing primarily as Auburn's left fielder. He reached base safetly in 44 out of 54 games played, scoring at least one run in 30 games.

Morris, who was recently named to USA Baseball's National Team, was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and second-team All-SEC after hitting a team-best .351 in 54 games, with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. He played first base.

Morris and Fletcher have received freshman All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball. Louisville Slugger named them among the nation's best first-year players.

Auburn announced Pawlowski's hiring on June 20. He replaced Tom Slater, who resigned under pressure May 17.

Slater recruited the current class of freshmen, which made up the nation's fifth-ranked class a year ago. Morris was the Boston Red Sox's second-round draft pick in 2007, and Auburn started as many as six freshmen last season.
