It's Time For the Truth by debbiereese
My husband and I owned the television show, “The Southern Shopper”. It aired on TV24 every Monday night. About 5 years ago, we paid $10,000.00 to TV24 so we could be the exclusive shopping show on TV24. Every week, we paid TV24 P from certificate sells from the previous week’s show. The only thing that TV24 did for us, was to air our show every Monday night. All expenses were paid by us. This arrangement, which is also in our contract, was just fine until a few months ago. My husband received a letter from TV24 stating our business relationship was terminated. And, that we were not to pick up the money from the Monday night show. Also, in the letter, TV24 was taking over both our shows, “The Southern Golfer” and “The Southern Shopper”. Someone from TV24 went and got our money from the pick-up points. Now, where I come from, that is called “stealing”. (I’m Just Saying"). McMichael and Shadrix wanted all the money. I guess half wasn’t good enough. So, they set out to destroy us by spreading lies about us. How can someone just take (steal) a person’s livelihood and continue business as usual? TV24 hired two new host for OUR SHOW. And what about the $10,000.00 we paid them? Yes, we have a lawyer. In court their lawyer stood up and said, I had never hosted The Southern Shopper. And, yes we had a contract, but they (TV24) was not sure it was really legal. I say, TV24 drafted the contract and took our $10,000.00. So, the way I understand this is: TV24 drafted a non-legal contract for all parties to sign, and took our $10,000.00 we paid for the show, knowing there may be a question regarding the legal status of the contract. I think that’s called fraud. And may I say, up until a new partner was brought on board with TV24, we never had a problem with TV24. Forney McMichael,in my opinion, you know what you did was wrong. Oh yeah, McMichael wanted us to pay a lady friend of his “under the table”. He was going to pay her for work she did for him, and he wanted her to do some work for us. He wanted “no paper trail” back to her. All this aside. We never worked for TV24. We were outside contractors. NEVER employed by 24. I have never seen people that could take away another person’s ability to pay their bills and put food on their table and never look back. Strange what GREED will do to some people.
