According to Sgt. Steven Jarrett of the Alabama State Troopers, Jed Dautenhahn, 39, was killed on impact when the 1991 Honda he was driving collided head-on with a 1999 Ford driven by Lester Ledlow, 58, of Anniston, at 5:12 a.m.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown said Dautenhahn died of blunt-force trauma. Ledlow’s condition was unknown to emergency officials Friday evening, but Brown and Anniston EMS field supervisor Caleb Dulaney said he was taken to Regional Medical Center after the accident.
Attempts to reach officials at RMC this morning were not immediately successful.
