Tide will serve as one of four region hosts for NIT Tip-Off tourney

TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama men’s basketball team will serve as one of the four host teams for the NIT Season Tip-Off, which was announced today by the NCAA.

The Crimson Tide will be the No. 3 seed and host the South Region. Top-seeded Arizona will host the West Region, while No. 2 Duke has the East Region and No. 4 Rutgers has the North Region.

The South Region, which will be played in Coleman Coliseum at Alabama, includes Georgia State, McNeese State and Stillman College.

The event begins Nov. 18 with Georgia State taking on McNeese State at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Tide facing Stillman at 7 p.m.

The losing teams will play Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., with the winners meeting at 7 p.m.

The region winner will play in the semifinals, which will be Nov. 27 in New York's Madison Square Garden. The consolation and championship games will be Nov. 29.
