Chief Deputy Matt Wade said the three were arrested Thursday after they were seen breaking into the house.
A witness driving by the home said he saw three people who looked out of character standing on the porch, Wade said.
The chief deputy said the witness turned around to drive back past the house when he noticed a window had been broken. Wade said the witness took down the license number of the car sitting in the driveway before the suspects left.
The car belonged to Crystal Williams, 20, who, according to Wade, bonded out of the Calhoun County Jail the night before, after being arrested on another burglary charge.
According to Wade, officers stopped Williams in her car near her home on the first block of Wilmer Street by police. She was identified by the witness and arrested on scene, the deputy said.
The other suspects, Turon McNutt, 20, and Patrick Neal, 22, were found in an apartment in Glen Addie homes in Anniston after further leads were developed in the investigation, Wade said.
According to the chief deputy, seven people were in the apartment when officers arrived, and four of them had outstanding warrants unrelated to the burglary from different police departments.
Wade said police searched the apartment and a vehicle parked outside and found half a pound of marijuana and stolen merchandise, including a television and a jewelry box.
A police report the Star received from the sheriff’s office Thursday said an estimated $4,400 worth of property was taken from the home, including a 9 mm handgun, Sony Playstation video game system, 32-inch television, laptop computer, jewelry box and hunting knife.
Without the witness it’s possible none of the suspects would have been caught, the deputy said.
“Because of him we were able to catch them in 20 minutes,” Wade said.
Williams, Mcnutt and Neal were in the Calhoun County Jail today on charges of third-degree burglary, a felony.
Mcnutt and Neal had bonds set at $15,000 today. Williams had a bond of $5,000.
All three have a court date set for July 25.
