Anniston police on Monday charged a third suspect with stealing from a man’s storage unit in March.

Stephanie Michelle Swink Johnson, 36, of Anniston, was charged with second-degree theft, a felony, after she turned herself in Monday afternoon at the Anniston Police Department.

On Aug. 7, Tangee Caver Heath, 46, and Michael Lavone Hughley, 59, both turned themselves in at the Anniston Police Department and were also charged with second-degree theft related to the March incident.

Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the three stole furniture valued at $800 out of a 33-year-old man’s storage unit on the 1200 block of South Leighton Avenue.

Sparks said Hughley was the uncle of the victim. The other two women were acquainted with Hughley, he said.

The theft occurred on March 25, Sparks said, but the victim didn’t discover the items were missing until April 29.

Johnson was released on a $7,500 bond Monday from the Anniston City Jail. A court appearance is set for Aug. 26.
