Re “Park location suggested for motorcyclists’ annual downtown Anniston event” (News article, July 10):

This is the first time in the history of the Rumble on Noble that Anniston’s downtown merchants have been asked by the City Council to express their opinion about how their business is affected by the event.

During the course of expressing my opinion, I made a statement that was not intended to refer to bikers in general nor everyone who attends the Rumble, but to make the council aware that there have been several people who have attended this event over the years who have not conducted themselves in an appropriate manner while inside my shop.

I also made the council aware that I do not appreciate that my customers have difficulties in accessing my shop during this “pay to enter” event. As a result, my opinion is that the Rumble on Noble drastically affects my business. I appreciate the city asking me about this.

I am sorry if my comments were taken the wrong way or misconstrued. It was not my intent to offend anyone. I have several bikers who shop in my store throughout the year, and I appreciate them and their patronage.
