Re “A governor’s legacy — For Bentley, history shows how wayward ideologies are tough to shed” (Editorial, Oct. 2):

Gov. Robert Bentley’s resistance to the socialized medicine infusion into our lives is appropriate and well done. The 300,000 souls you speak of is a figure pulled out of a socialist hat by the owners of the ink, paper and press it is produced on.

Why not research the numbers and tell the truth about how many of these are already living happy, care-free lives — free housing, free food, free transportation, free money, and the list grows. Now, all of us who do not live the “free” life are herded together by the federal government and forced to pay yet another free handout to the ones you consider the “most defenseless” and whom you strive to protect.

Medical insurance for me and mine comes with a large monthly bill, and I cannot go to a “navigator” to magically receive a medical insurance plan that is even comparable to the chosen ones the president has created this socialism venture for. He refers to them as “his people.” Well, he and his people are not the ones who pay.

Pay, pay, pay, and we pay for that inch that becomes a mile. Think about it, Gov. Bentley will be re-elected overwhelmingly. Your press, ink and paper will not keep this truth from happening.
