I would like to make a public apology to the members of the volunteer fire department of the Webster’s Chapel community.

I am the wife of Casey Walker, who was at one time the chief, and I made a post on my Facebook page that was insulting and inappropriate. I will not apologize for coming to the defense of my husband, who I feel has not been treated fairly by men he has known all his life. However, the comments I made in anger were ugly and vicious. They were not the comments of the righteous woman I strive to be.

The events of the last few months have been ugly on both sides, and instead of rising above the ugliness, I became a part of it. So, again, I apologize for the things that I said about the department and pray that we can heal and get beyond this to work to serve our community.
