A 22-year-old man was shot at Thursday night in Anniston, months after recovering from injuries in a previous shooting.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the victim was walking up the steps to his home on the 1900 block of Harris Avenue when several gunshots were fired at him. No one reported any injuries, George said.

The victim told police he saw a black car parked on Harris Avenue and recognized someone in the car as the man who previously shot him, the captain said.

George said police recovered one spent bullet on the road in front of the house.

The same victim was shot Feb. 27 at Barber Terrace Apartments on South Allen Avenue. The victim had part of his leg amputated as a result of the shooting.

George said today that police were still investigating the attempted assault.

Any suspect could be charged with attempted first-degree assault, a felony, according to a police report.
